I collaborated with the London-based ethical streetwear brand Ullac Oy in making a one-off, hand-painted customised jacket. I decided to cover mine in fruit patterns, which is a common theme in my work. I realised that the combination of the natural thick cotton material, the workman cut, and the red-toned palette I used, the jacket really reminded me of traditional Russian folk clothing, so I decided to keep the design minimal, and only use the images of pomegranates and red currants to honour my Russian and Central Asian heritage.
